Transport from the Norwich Area
Base yourself in Norfolk visit the Games and be part of the action. Getting to London from Norfolk could not be easier. Th Norwich to London line links directly to the Olympic Park at Stratford International, gateway to the Games, with regular half-hourly trains. In just under 2 hours you will be at the very heart of London 2012.
Take the Olympic walkway and in just 2 minutes you will be at the track (or Aquatics Centre, Velodrome, Basketball Arena, BMX circuit) and enjoy the unforgettable experience. Soak up the carnival atmosphere, enjoy the buzz and at the end of a memorable day leave a congested London behind and relax on the train back to the tranquillity of Norfolk.
There is no access by car to the London 2012 Games. The organisers plan for 100% of spectators to get to the Games by public transport - the aim is to be the greenest games ever.
- The majority of spectators will travel to the Games by rail.
- Norfolk County Council will provide extra Park & Ride sites to connect with trains on the Kings Lynn and Norwich to London lines. Travellers will be able to park their cars and join shuttle buses to some stations en route.
- Stratford Regional, Stratford International and West Ham are the three gateway stations that will serve the Olympic Park.
- Stratford Regional links directly with the Norwich-London rail route.
- Tickets to the games will include free travel on London public transport for the day of your ticket.
- Allow 30 minutes from gateway stations to your sporting venue.
